Space, the Final Frontier?
A poem by Douglas Gempel
July 23,2013
As we tumble forward
in time,
Man is as green as a
lime,
When we reach for the
distant stars,
We realize we need
rocket cars,
To take us to and
fro,
So mankind can grow,
From one small blue
marble in the sky,
So the human race
does not die,
For if we fail to
recognize our issues,
We may need something
more than tissues,
To save our earth,
Create new worth,
By moving to space,
To save the human
race,
For as we move
towards a bright new future,
We need to cure our
swollen suture,
Because now and
forward,
As we move toward,
A crowded place,
In swollen space,
To create a new place,
To save the human
race,
For in the end,
We must win,
And spare the earth,
And save our worth,
For those that come
later,
Like a space invader,
Free at last,
